Specialization
We produce translations for private or public consumption to native level with the target reader in mind. All target texts are checked and proof-read exclusively by native Latvian or English speakers.
I and my partner specialise in translating and editing business related texts intended for (1) informative, (2) persuasive and (3) regulative purposes. Typical examples of these would be:
• market analyses
• marketing and advertising material
• business contracts and legal documents.
Consequently, our translation strategies vary from sticking to facts of an analysis, recreating the flair and mood of an advertising to adhering to legal structures and conventions of the target language.
On the client’s request we may change the function of the source text to meet particular target reader’s needs as, for example, in summarisations of government rules and regulations where a regulative text would be turned into an informative text.
We also provide consecutive interpreting services for business seminars, training sessions, company visits, fact finding missions etc.
