I am a French-English translator and interpreter (native English speaker) specializing in legal translation.
Prior to becoming a translator I qualified and worked as a solicitor (a lawyer in England and Wales), as part of which career trajectory I obtained an bachelor's degree in Law with French Law (LL.B.) from the University of Reading, a postgraduate diploma in Legal Practice (LPC) from the College in Law in Guildford and a DEJF (Diploma in French Legal Studies) from the Université Paris X (Nanterre).
In 2013 I opted for a change of career and completed a part-time Master's degree (MA Translation) with the University of Bristol, awarded with Distinction in 2016.
I have been practising as a freelance translator in France since January 2015. As well as legal translation, I have successfully translated in a wide variety of subject areas including the arts, energy production and veterinary technology.
I am a sworn translator (traducteur assermenté) and sworn interpreter (interprète assermenté) attached to the Court of Appeal in Reims.
As of 2019, I am a member of the SFT (Société Française des Traducteurs), UNETICA and CEJPCAR, la Compagnie des Experts de Justice près la Cour d'Appel de Reims.
