Job Description

We are an English language solutions company catering to non-native markets like Japan. We deal with editing as well as translating academic papers across all subject areas.

We are currently looking for a Freelance English to Japanese Web Content Translator/Writer who has complete knowledge about the Journal Publishing cycle, and who will be required to translate content to market our services to a Japanese academic audience.

The English language version of the content will be written from the perspective of a native English speaker, and may not be geared towards presentation to a Japanese audience. You will be required to enhance the web content to suit the audience and to make it more presentable with the use of graphs/charts /diagrams also, if needed. An essential component will be adding the Japanese perspective to the translated content.

You will also need to fulfill the Roles and Responsibilities as outlined below and satisfy the necessary requirements.

Requirements

- Two or more years of experience in Web Page and Content Writing/Translation
- IT experience will be preferred
- Thorough knowledge of the journal publishing cycle
- Proficient in both English and Japanese; native Japanese speakers will be preferred


Roles and Responsibilities

- Translating/Writing web content for our websites/portals from English to Japanese (and vice versa). You will need to keep in mind that all the translation is intended for a Japanese audience and will therefore need to provide the ‘Japanese perspective’.

- Editing and proofreading web content (English and Japanese).
