. Obskurne, z wrośniętym brudem, szare bu-
dynki wyglądają przygnębiająco. Przed bramą grupka pijaków, ich oczy
przekrwione, usta zaplute, czerwone, aż sine, twarze pokryte apatycz-
nymi minami. Ciągną piwo z butelek, bełkoczą żałośnie, rzucając prze-
kleństwami. Jeden z nich mydła nie widział od dawna, chwiejąc się,
niezdarnie wciska w spodnie brudną koszulę. Mimo że z takim obraz-
kiem zetknęłam się już przy spożywczaku na Gorkiego, napawa mnie
to lękiem. Za żadne skarby nie wejdę tu sama. Przygarniam do siebie
