Los Angeles based linguists required

We are an Entertainment Group and have been serving the global community for over 100 years as the leading integrated provider of media production, marketing, localization and delivery solutions for television shows, movies and commercials.

Our localization arm specializes in subtitling, closed captioning and translation services for major motion picture studios, film festivals, broadcast, streaming, and cable networks, and is currently seeking qualified Freelance Linguists to work on our high profile content in our Burbank office as needed.

Main Duties
Watching the film (each screening usually lasts between 2-4 hours, depending on the length of the film) with the subtitles/dubbing and note any major issues that detract from the meaning or enjoyment of the movie.
Translations are generally already approved by the client, so we're really just looking for severe errors like subtitles drifting out of sync, missing subtitles, incorrect audio, character corruptions, etc.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:
Be a native speaker of Bahasa Indonesian/Bahasa Malaysian /Danish/Estonian/Finnish/Greek/Icelandic/Norwegian/Slovenian/Vietnamese.
Must be based in the Los Angeles area (most screenings happen in Burbank and remote work is not possible).
Have a flexible schedule (screenings are scheduled at short notice during the day, evening and at weekends).
Be a North American cinema & television enthusiast.


Payment is $100 flat per screening, non-negotiable.
