Tout comme dans "hedgehog", qui se traduit habituellement par "hérisson" ou "porc-épic", "hedge" voudrait dire, par extension, "épine" ou "pointe".

"roundhedged" signifierait donc "à pointes rondes" ou "à pointes arrondies". Les dents de la scie seraient arrondies au lieu d'être acérées.
