Rosa (a guest user) asked this question:

Language pair:

French > English

Subject:

Medical

Level of diffculty:

Easy / medium

Word or term in question:

Plq pel préd

Context:

lansoprazole [LANSOPRAZOLE MYLAN 15 mg Cpr orodisp Plq pel préd/28)

I know that Plq = plaquette, it's a blister pack of 28.
Unsure was pel préd stands for or means.

BP FCT pre-cut

My comment:

1. pel => forme pharmaceutique i.e. (comprimé) pelliculé = film coated (tablet)
2. préd => taille de l’emballage i.e. (comprimé) prédécoupé = pre-cut (tablet)

==> film coated tablet pre-cut = FCT pre-cut

3. Plq => plaquette = blister pack = BP

Agree "pel" (and "pell") is pellicule – film-coated. Not tablet size: https://www.aucoeurdevotresante.fr/produit/urgo-extensible-pans-pred-b-30-5ea4a4084c9f3 Relates to plastic of blister packaging: pred/PVC/Aclar/Alu. There's also "non préd", e.g. IRESSA 250 mg Cpr pell Plq non préd/30

Sorry, yes, my mind got a bit tangled, it sometimes being written PRéD didn't help. préd = prédécouper. https://www.butterflypackaging.com/produit/rouleau-de-film-a-bulles-2/
